After 10 years of neglect the crown green has been restored back to a playing standard. All the facilities were destroyed by arson and had been left until we formed Codnor Bowls and Activity club. In the last 18 months we have fundraised and obtained grants to restore the green, fence off three sides to prevent anyone causing anymore damage to the grass.

The next phase is to, hopefully, be completed by the end of the year. This phase consisting of completion of the fencing, putting in toilet and refreshment facilities and continuing work on the green. Both huts are to be refurbished also.

We now have over 40 members and the number is increasing regularly. Every Thursday from 10-12 noon our activity group meet where you are able to play darts, various domino games, bingo, indoor bowls, table tennis plus various board games. We are a very welcoming group and are open to all ages and abilities. Disabled people are also welcome along with people with dementia and their carers. There is a £5 yearly membership fee and a weekly subscription to cover refreshments etc. If you play bowls on Thursday mornings there is no green fee payable but any other day of the week there is a £1 green fee.
